Victoria retro canvas plimsolls

Design, innovation and handmade production since 1915 …

As much as it may be hard to accept, summer is coming to an end. But we didn´t want to let it go without going through the main events we celebrated during these last months because they counted with our most iconic model as the star: our canvas plimsolls.

Last April we celebrated in Madrid the relaunching of the brand´s most emblematic product. During the event Classics will be classics we tried to value craftmanship and claim the classics. For this reason, we installed a real vulcanizing machine, which we brought directly from our factory to show the manufacturing process that Victoria has maintained since the fifties.

We also presented the re- design of the model, with a new shape to improve ergonomics and fit and an insole which makes it more comfortable and adapted to this century feet without losing its essence.

The event was a success and everybody had the opportunity to see how we make Victoria. Also, some lucky ones took a warm freshly made pair with them!

The art direction was on the hands of Elena Gallén, who worked in collaboration with Carolina Spencer (@matagalanplantae) capturing on images the contrast between industrial artisan environment and the delicacy of a flower or a cotton canvas slipper.

Later, in the month of May, we organized an event in Malasaña (Madrid) to present a very special and unique collaboration where we came up with the Inglesa Mahou by Victoria, which reflects the union between two Spanish, centenarian and youth brands.

Again, our canvas plimsolls were the star, this time, printed with a pattern which combines and pays tribute to the Spanish “botijo” along with the famous Mahou´s bottle.

The event counted with singers, actors, designers, etc. Different well-known faces like Rico Romero @nicoromeroactor, Angy Fernández @angynas, Andrea Guash @andreaguasch, Eloy Azorín @eloyazorin o Juan Cornet @jancornetoficial among others, who had the opportunity to enjoy it with us.

In addition, the artist Rebeca Khamlichi used the raw canvas of Victoria´s iconic canvas plimsolls to make her own interpretation of the strategic union of both brands.

At the age of 22, after graduating in Business Economics, Matteo Mancini  decided to exploit his creative and entrepreneurial skills to create new opportunities. Therefore, in 2015, he started a “small company”called Etica-Estetica, which gives shape to the customers’ personality through the creation of their own custom shoes.

Which was your source of inspiration for designing these sneakers?

My main source of inspiration for these three models has been the “experience”, let me tell you why. In my job the customer has to be followed in detail in the choice of his own shoe so that he can properly bring out his identity in a common object like a pair of shoes. I provide him with a wide range of materials including fabrics, chains, studs, prints and paintings and he composes his own shoe as best as he feels represented with.

What was your intention when you created these designs Victoria by Matteo Mancini?

My intention when I create new models is to reach customers who want to differentiate themselves from the mass throughout a limited edition that values the basic product as well as their identity.

What does one of your designs must have in order to be satisfied with the result?

In order to satisfy our principles and values every pair of shoes we make must possess these requirements:  Precision, Passion, Uniqueness. To sum up the three above-mentioned requirements our shoes must be precise, they must show the passion that we put in our work and they must communicate their uniqueness.

Victoria & Real Fábrica

A new edition of DecorAcción took place in the well-known district Las Letras in Madrid. This is an urban event of decoration and interior design organized in collaboration with the local shops.

Victoria took part in this edition thanks to the collaboration with Real Fábrica, the shop with the most historical Spanish brands, which bet for decorating the shop´s facade with one of the most iconic products of our country: Victoria’s canvas slippers.

The theme for this edition was the dreams. Real Fábrica expressed its dream of keeping the classics value and showing its love for the traditional materials and artisan techniques. In order to get it they installed a hundred green canvas slippers that stood out for their originality, color and the contrast with their blackboard wall.

Victoria again on the catwalks

Victoria Shoes is present one more season, on Madrid’s and Barcelona’s catwalks thanks to three young designers collaboration.

Leandro Cano reappeared in Mercedes Fashion Week two years after with Victoria Shoes; a firm with more than 100 years of experience in the footwear industry and with a strong commitment to design and fashion sector.

The 33 years old young designer, who won the sixth VOGUE’s Who’s On Next edition, bet on the colorful ballet pumps as the perfect complement to a risky staging with a strong inspiration in religion and bullfighting culture.

Esther Ferrando launched her AW18 collection inspired by the Viking aesthetic and Celt’s symbolism. In order to complete her masculine proposals, she chose the new baskets with a more stylized last.

Óscar León showed his collection named I will do it, whatever you think at Barcelona’s 080 catwalk. The designer once again entrusts one more year Victoria Shoes with the footwear of his exhibition, choosing this time the most wintry models of our collection.

First Victoria store!

With a ribbon-cutting ceremony and many balloons, that’s the way we opened the first Victoria store!

On February 28 we lived a very special moment in the first Victoria store opening in Salamanca. This city, characterized by a young population with a good taste in fashion, is the ideal place to lay the foundations for Victoria’s expansion project.

For more than three hours we did not stop receiving visits from friends, customers and Victoria fans who enjoyed music, dances and good vibes that set the rhythm of the day.

This opening party symbolized the starting point for the new Victoria store, a place with Mediterranean and summer references, which have the essence of the brand in every corner.

For the first time, the fans of the brand will find the whole Victoria and Bamba collection. Great news as they will be able to choose among the 364 different models; a great challenge to choose your favorite!

VICTORIA is in style!

Victoria is in fashion and is standing strong in the national and international catwalks by the hand of designers such as Ion Fiz and Rira Sugawara, who chose the brand as a partner to launch their Spring-Summer ’18 collection.

The designer from Bilbao, who Victoria has already cooperate with in several occasions, showed one of his most special collections as his fifteenth anniversary. A collection inspired by the arabian culture in which earth tones, tribal and tropical fabrics in slips on, canvas plimsolls with toes, platforms and sandals with buckles are the protagonists.

Rira Sugawara, commonly known as Dans La Vie, showed her collection at London Fashion Week full of prints and tulles with red and green colours as protagonists. In this occasion, the designer chose one of the legendary Victoria sneakers in white colour which completed her urban, casual and modern proposals.
