Victoria & Matteo Mancini

Discover more about Matteo Mancini and the collaboration with Victoria Shoes.

At the age of 22, after graduating in Business Economics, Matteo Mancini  decided to exploit his creative and entrepreneurial skills to create new opportunities. Therefore, in 2015, he started a “small company”called Etica-Estetica, which gives shape to the customers’ personality through the creation of their own custom shoes.

Which was your source of inspiration for designing these sneakers?

My main source of inspiration for these three models has been the “experience”, let me tell you why. In my job the customer has to be followed in detail in the choice of his own shoe so that he can properly bring out his identity in a common object like a pair of shoes. I provide him with a wide range of materials including fabrics, chains, studs, prints and paintings and he composes his own shoe as best as he feels represented with.

What was your intention when you created these designs Victoria by Matteo Mancini?

My intention when I create new models is to reach customers who want to differentiate themselves from the mass throughout a limited edition that values the basic product as well as their identity.

What does one of your designs must have in order to be satisfied with the result?

In order to satisfy our principles and values every pair of shoes we make must possess these requirements:  Precision, Passion, Uniqueness. To sum up the three above-mentioned requirements our shoes must be precise, they must show the passion that we put in our work and they must communicate their uniqueness.

Victoria & Real Fábrica

A new edition of DecorAcción took place in the well-known district Las Letras in Madrid. This is an urban event of decoration and interior design organized in collaboration with the local shops.

Victoria took part in this edition thanks to the collaboration with Real Fábrica, the shop with the most historical Spanish brands, which bet for decorating the shop´s facade with one of the most iconic products of our country: Victoria’s canvas slippers.

The theme for this edition was the dreams. Real Fábrica expressed its dream of keeping the classics value and showing its love for the traditional materials and artisan techniques. In order to get it they installed a hundred green canvas slippers that stood out for their originality, color and the contrast with their blackboard wall.

VICTORIA & REAL FABRICA

VICTORIA is in style!

Victoria is in fashion and is standing strong in the national and international catwalks by the hand of designers such as Ion Fiz and Rira Sugawara, who chose the brand as a partner to launch their Spring-Summer ’18 collection.

The designer from Bilbao, who Victoria has already cooperate with in several occasions, showed one of his most special collections as his fifteenth anniversary. A collection inspired by the arabian culture in which earth tones, tribal and tropical fabrics in slips on, canvas plimsolls with toes, platforms and sandals with buckles are the protagonists.

Rira Sugawara, commonly known as Dans La Vie, showed her collection at London Fashion Week full of prints and tulles with red and green colours as protagonists. In this occasion, the designer chose one of the legendary Victoria sneakers in white colour which completed her urban, casual and modern proposals.

WE WILL MISS YOU!

Summer comes to an end and we are nostalgic remembering the good times we lived in this short but intense season in which the heat, the joy and the good vibes have been the protagonists.

You will agree with us in saying that summer means sun, beach and getaways. It’s time to disconnect and let your imagination fly, thinking of thousands plans for your vacations.

In Victoria we want to put the finishing touch by presenting the projects the students of the Master in Motion Graphics Design of IED Madrid have developed inspired on us.

The colours, creativity, spontaneity and freshness of the proposals, perfectly define Victoria’s universe: a century-old brand, made in Spain, with a clear commitment to design.

Undoubtedly, the quality of the projects of these students is outstanding and they do deserve a section in Victoria’s small universe.

Renata García, Berta Nieto and Luis Guillermo Monge bet on a “Remember” project that guides us to the summer season’s experiences. A colourful and geometric- shaped ad that come to life through animation techniques emulating the components of the iconic plimsoll of Victoria.

Enrico Varagnolo, Marcos Pastrana, Felipe Restrepo and Ignacio Lucena have created a spot based on the summer colours and textures. An audiovisual project that reproduces the manufacturing process of the classic plimsoll of the brand. Our 6613 reference.

Then again, Gian Piero Cremaschi, Ana Penche and Fabiana Páez have launched a dynamic, fresh and colorful piece where nature is the main idea. An ad where sneakers become an element of nature.

Reyes Álvarez, Rocío Celina Castañeda and Raquel Lobo make reference to Victoria’s organic feature through colours and natural forms in an ad that invites you to travel and live an adventure.

Thank you all students for participating in the project. Good job!

IED 2016 & Calzados Victoria

How to summarize 100 years in 20 seconds? The students from the master’s in Motion Graphics Design at IED Madrid have shown us it’s possible to do it and, even more, to get great results! For the fourth year running, these students have worked in an audiovisual project inspired in the brand Victoria.

The course, specialized in motion graphics effects, is provided in the design school Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid. The final project of the students consisted of creating a spot based in the key values of Victoria: a 100-year-old footwear brand made in Spain, high environmental awareness, strong international presence and commitment to design and new technologies.

Five projects with a high level of quality and creativity are the result of this collaboration. The IED students suggest a new brand vision with lots of talent and originality reaching clearly the objectives of the collaboration.

Ana Gutiérrez and Natasha Hodgkins present us “Handmade summer, verano Victoria”. This mixed animation project combines traditional animation (recyclable material elements, watercolours and acrylics) with digital technology. The spot takes us to summer with its bright colours and reminiscences of this season: ice cream, sunglasses or a bicycle.

Guillermo León, Santiago Cifuentes, Luis Núñez and Maite Martín, have created a spot which leads us travelling across the brand and the history of fashion and art. The “Inglesa” plimsoll is the key object which is combined with geometric line elements and refined colours. 2D and 3D motions are mixed in a dynamic video with references to the timelessness of Victoria.

Julio Núñez, David Rubio, Fernando Tendero and Simone Gallucci present “Nature,” a spot where the shoes become another element of nature, living in perfect harmony with flowers and animals. Hummingbirds trying to suck the pleasant scent of the Victoria shoes, chameleons mimicking the canvas colour or frogs spying curious the plimsoll.

Florinda Pamungkas, Irune Azkarate, Marianne and David Patarroyo have created a project full of symbolism and constant references to the values of Calzados Victoria: the carnation, the Spanish national flower, makes a clear reference to the origins of the brand. The female body reinforces the character of Victoria, the monarch butterfly is the symbol of the transformation, colorful and multidisciplinary facet of the Victoria’s collections. The eye takes us to Asia, one of the major international markets, while the poem guides us during the audiovisual strengthening the understanding.

Ramón Arcas, Auxi Alba and Alejandra Fonseca base their spot in the manufacturing process of the classic “Inglesa” plimsoll, recreating a history in a happy, cheerful atmosphere with “Kawaii”, the Japanese style elements, full of life, tender and innocence. The use of pastel colours and accessories is the result of the seeking of harmonization with Victoria commercial campaigns.

Barbie by VICTORIA

Victoria Shoes has recently collaborated with Barbie, designing an exclusive shoe inspired by the doll. This collaboration has been carried out because of a very special occasion for Barbie: for the first time in more than five decades, the doll will be able to kick off her stilettos and opt for a pair of comfy flats thanks to her new adjustable ankles.

The doll is a social fashion icon and seeks to represent the wishes and aspirations of each little girl. Barbie has also been dressed in many occasions by very famous world designers.

At Victoria we have redesigned one of our platform shoes exclusively for Barbie. This model is one of our most iconic ones and the miniature will be replicated in a 3cm small size so that it can perfectly fit in the delicate doll’s feet.

Do you like the model? Here you have some similar Victoria’s shoes!

Did you know that?

Victoria was founded in Spain in 1915 in a small town in La Rioja, when its founder Gregorio, had the idea of creating a shoe named after his wife Victoria, whom he had married the previous year.

We’ve carried out many projects in this area, being one of the most interesting ones the collaboration with “Semana de la Verdura” (Vegetables’ Week). This event aims to promote the quality and variety of horticultural products in Calahorra (La Rioja), as well as to stand out the harmony between creativity and the culinary world through multiple activities. One of them was the catwalk in which Victoria collaborated.

For this original activity, students of the design school of La Rioja re-designed some of our models using real local vegetables.
